Housework

Everyone has a choice of how clean they want their house to be.  Everyone will have different amounts of time that they can allocate to the task of cleaning, depending on their work commitments and what their lifestyle choices dictate.

If you want to live in an absolutely spotless home, you have made the conscious decision to spend a large portion of your time cleaning.  If you want to live in a clean home, but spend as little time possible cleaning, the solution is to ultimately live in a home which is as clutter free and as organised as you can comfortably achieve.

Ask yourself what level of clean you would like in your home, and how much time you wish to dedicate to this goal.  Once you have thought this through, work out what areas of the home take up too much of your time, and how you can improve it’s efficiency.  The answer is to usually declutter. Installing some simple and innovative storage solutions for belongings will keep your home organised.

Personally, I do no more than 1 hour of dedicated housework per week in addition to laundry, at this stage of my life cleaning is not a priority for me.

There is no one-size-fits-all housework routine as everyone’s choices will be different. People’s choices will no doubt change and alter as they go through different stages of their life.  Hopefully my cleaning hacks and organisation ideas for the home can help you reduce your housework so you can spend your precious time doing things you enjoy.
